Taking Matters into your Own Hands
There are so many things you can do in a day to raise your vibe. Have a bath. Jerk off (yea, I said it. FIGHT ME!) Cook a great meal. Online shop. Have a good cry. Call a friend.
But…
(You knew the "but" was coming, didn't you?)
Quick fixes + lasting solutions are not the same.
I’m all for a quick fix, self-care moment, but quick fixes don't address the real deep down issues. It’s like putting a band aid on a gushing wound and calling it a day.
I mean like... Being actually depressed and feeling trapped because you feel broke and that feeling of being broke makes you feel inadequate, like a failure, and so you impulse buy a shockingly expensive but GORGEOUS pair of heels / a dress / a handbag online to feel that wonderful RUSH of dopamine, instant satisfaction.
Except that when the dopamine wears off - and it always does - you realise you've just racked up some more credit card debt for something you can't really wear or use because Corona, and you feel worse than before.
The shame spiral begins anew.
That’s what the FLL program is all about: being brave enough to dive deep WITH SUPPORT, HELP + LOVING GUIDANCE - someone holding space for you to explore the deep feels and the reasons why you’re even needing to self-soothe in the first place.
The REAL, REAL reasons.
It's a chance to invest in something that will give you long lasting good feels, investing in the thing that brings you closer to your goals.
If you don't know what your goals even are right now, that's OK, we find that out together! The important thing is JUST STARTING. KNOWING you are ready to feel differently and just going for it. That in itself is a powerful declaration.
If your goals for the rest of 2020 involve mainly re-watching Tiger King on Netflix (remember when that first came out and how amazed and shocked we all were? Doesn’t that seem like such a pleasant, simpler time, back in March?) and eating tacos and sleeves of oreos, that is TOTALLY FINE.
TOTALLY. FINE.
